Turbine-RPM

Figure 1: RPM tab

The RPM tab works in a way that is similar to the Thrust and Power tabs. Values can be copied and pasted from tab-delimited text files and common spreadsheet programs directly into the Power, Thrust and RPM tables.

RPM has very little effect on energy capture results. It has a small effect on near wake length which has a smaller effect on overall wake losses.

Most OEMs do not provide RPM data and so we provide the Fill RPM button in order to fill in some reasonable values. OEMs often provide maximum or rated RPM values so this can be input as the upper value in the range. The RPM curve is assumed to flatten at the rated velocity.
